What use would a tire company have for construction management software? We had to ask ourselves that same question at first. Unlike most who work in Autodesk Construction Cloud, we aren't paying our bills through the construction of buildings; we're investing in the buildings. We manage the entire project lifecycle of our facilities from conception to operations. Tires are our product, but we need a place to build those tires. We need to maintain that facility, manage our assets, and, most importantly, we need to transform our manufacturing footprint. All of these things need to happen, all while product continues to flow out the door. We produce tires despite the building process, we don't build despite the production of our products. In 2022, Samsung Electronics initiated its journey to cloud adoption by choosing and examining Autodesk Construction Cloud for its multibillion-dollar fabrication facility (FAB) construction projects with assistance from Autodesk. During this transition, it was critical that the company adhere to national security regulations, and guide internal users to shift their preferences from 2D to 3D workflows. In this session, the team will share how it has ensured a secure project environment around Autodesk Construction Cloud using Amazon Web Service (AWS) and a third-party identity provider to comply with security regulations. CADS first presented RebarCAD 3D for Revit software at AU in 2018. We're now nearly seven years into the development of the program, and, as a result, a lot has changed! Detailing rebar in Revit has been made easier and more efficient using additional tools to add special rebar bend types, circular bars, and even the ability to apply "one click" detailing to members using the Smart Detailer. The audit facility provides the user with full and efficient control over all rebar in the model, checking assignment to release and identifying any rebar that does not conform to the customizable preset rebar requirements. Detailers can efficiently output rebar production files directly from the Revit model to the major fabrication systems for production, with just a few clicks. Revision control tools for bar list and release management—combined with the ability to fully lock the rebar type, position, and dimensions in the model—result in complete quality control.

Using our Autodesk suite to reshape our design process and owning our IP has enabled sustainable scaling and the delivery of large pipelines of work for central government using off-site construction methods. This success has led to a 300% increase in our manufacturing capacity in the last three years, while maintaining client satisfaction with the quality of our design and project delivery. Storytelling has been present within architecture as long as the domain itself has existed. Initially, it was done with hand representations of volumes and narratives told over the sheets of paper. As the technology progresses, new ways of telling stories emerge: Renderings became easier and cheaper, causing their function to evolve. Industry saw a shift from only using them for end results (artifacts) to real-time renderings focused on driving communication and decision making. A cross-industry technology fusion! We used Autodesk Generative Design software to create an adaptive connector bracket for robot-operated 3D scans of ancient structures. ReCap software and Dynamo helped us study traditional construction methods and enrich our restoration efforts. This report covers our process in Autodesk Fusion 360 software, including entering design parameters and extracting constraints from the historical site. It explains how we turned the bracket's requirements into criteria for rapid iteration and selection, quickly finding the best solution. It also explains how ReCap processed robot-collected point cloud data to investigate architectural principles and features of ancient buildings in Southern China. Finally, it describes how Dynamo converted these insights into automated building information modeling (BIM) scripting, bridging historical knowledge with modern technology for efficient restoration practices.
