Additionally, there's a growing demand to make the data accessible and user-friendly in relation to geography. The Water Authority Drents Overijsselse Delta has made some changes to cope with this challenge. To create an accessible environment, it plots its assets on geographic information system (GIS) layers using ArcGIS GeoBIM. Additionally, the Water Authority wants to ensure that all its existing and new assets are being monitored correctly and are reliable according to national and organizational requirements. To achieve this goal, it's using the power of Autodesk Construction Cloud in combination with Cadac Control and Model Coordination.

There are numerous unique challenges involved in managing a large model environment, and there's a scarcity of documented workflows or solutions to tackle them. This presentation will discuss the issues encountered while managing the Revit models for MEP systems of a new 1.3 million-square-foot hospital, and the innovative solutions that were implemented. Using tools such as Ideate, Clarity, BIM Interoperability Checker, BIM 360 Model Coordination, and others, a powerful BIM 360 model environment was established that was capable of handling the vast amount of data and elements required to document the hospital. This case study explores how digital transformation happens, starting from the traditional design process and moving to Autodesk Construction Cloud using building information modeling (BIM) tools. It also identifies challenges, the importance of education and training, and the short-term and long-term benefits. The major challenge is the lack of capacity and capability, lack of a common platform, absence of standardization, inconsistencies in workflow and processes, and loss of information. We initiated the transformation by redefining the workflow processes, bringing Autodesk Construction Cloud, standardizing design language and deliverables, creating libraries, and training. We were also able to define roles and responsibilities, ensure version control across all stakeholders, and review clash detection, thus improving on-time efficiency, accuracy, and quality of the deliverables by sharing information and collaborating.
