This session is a follow-up of the class presented last year about the “Virtual construction site management with advanced workflow in BIM360” (CS468465). We will describe the improvements made this year through the adoption of the Build module including the PlanGrid Build mobile app for field workers. We’ve been widely extending the use of Construction Cloud with digitalization of other construction processes in addition of those already implemented. We are focusing our attention on setting up a workflow for safety and environmental check in the work site.Using Forge and Construction Cloud Connect, we are developing integration with other company database and Legacy IT systems, to avoid data redundancy and to build up integrated dashboards. In upcoming years we will be able to manage and improve the construction process of linear infrastructure projects with ConstructionCloud in order to improve data quality, reduce costs and time by 60%, reduce wastefulness and promote sustainability

In this session, you’ll learn how different companies have set up and standardized their workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity. Razavi and Blair will discuss real customer stories and lessons learned based on company business model, size, and region.

Attendees will learn about the real issues involved with rolling new technology out to field teams. We’ll cover the overall view of technology within field operations staff. We’ll go over a brief history of mobile technology, where we’ve come from, and where we’ll be going in the next 10 years. We will present a use case at Hudson yard where we rolled out PlanGrid in the field, and we’ll go over why it worked, what struggles we had, and what major lessons we learned. And we will cover how to develop a technology implantation plan and conduct a tech rollout.

Many of the processes we use to manage construction operations are designed around outdated paper-based workflows. Simply digitizing these paper-based processes is not enough to bring the improvements we need to see in the field. The management of plan revisions, information requests, and product submittal data are critical to a successful buildout, but the traditional paper-based processes used to manage them are slow and limit access to information, resulting in delays and rework.
