In this class, we'll look at how you can rely on Vault data management software to manage your engineering data and processes together with the cloud for collaboration with outside customers and partners.

It is common for most sheet metal fabricators to have an ERP (enterprise resource planning) or MRP (material requirements planning) system, as well as software that addresses their needs for nesting and machine programming. What is not commonplace is for those systems to talk to one another very well. This class will present a case study in which the users are designing in Inventor software, managing their revisions and model data in Vault software, using a cloud-based ERP system to input sales and inventory information, and using TruNest to drive all of the machines connected to their sheet metal fabrication operations. What this class will demonstrate to attendees is a fully integrated sheet metal fabrication workflow, from the design of the product to its manufacture on the shop floor.

This class will cover new API functionality in Vault 2019 software. This functionality was added to support the Project Sync feature, but was designed to be used by any client-side Vault customization. Topics include entity attributes (which can associate additional data with any Vault object), scheduled jobs (which allow execution of custom jobs at a given time and cadence), and more.

Copy Design is one of the most powerful features in Vault software. Engineers use existing designs in one way or another, whether reusing the designs completely to eliminate design time, copying an existing design, or updating a design, which takes less time. And less time is less cost. Apart from reduced modeling time, design reuse will have further impact in the form of cost and time savings in the downstream engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing. The Copy Design feature in Vault 2020 has many enhancements that help engineers do more, faster, with existing designs. This class will discuss the enhancements to Copy Design, and show you how to use Copy Design to be more productive.

This class will introduce you to the powerful tools that are available in Vault Workgroup software and Vault Professional software for revision management, approval workflows, and engineering change orders (ECO). Learn how categories are used to control the flow of your data and versions and revisions are intertwined. We will also cover how to apply different revision schemes and how to initiate and track change via a change order.

In this presentation we will discuss how to store and manage standard parts (devices) into a library, and how to store standard configurations of those parts into a catalog of controlled circuits in Vault Professional software. We will also talk about how to apply your custom/company standard support files and configuration files, and how to set up for all needed environments. We will also detail various methods for developing a standard workflow for content control and for accessing the latest released content. We'll look at how to hone in on the most effective methodology using AutoCAD Electrical software in a Vault Professional software environment. In this class, we examine substation assemblies and models for a utility. We also look into the lifecycle for substation parts in Vault Professional software. We cover the use of Items to keep track of information, such as purchase price, basic impulse level (BIL), operating voltage, specification information, and more. We discuss how to work in Inventor software and how to use the released bias or non-released bias to an assembly for insertion into your model. Finally, we examine how to keep track of legacy designs and greenfield designs in a standard format.

This class is about the process of making an assembly model that is built by iLogic codes. It will demonstrate the steps of automation, and how the iLogic component should be used to reduce errors of the assemblies. We're a team of 4 people who almost always work solely on coding, and we've reached an area where iLogic is fully saturated. In this class, you'll be able to understand why you have to rebuild and update your assemblies in order to get your iLogic code working again. We've found a way-what we believe to be one of the best ways to create an assembly with 500-plus unique parts. This class is not suitable for beginners, as it will be showing real-life examples of how our algorithms work their ways around the "non-starting rules." In this lesson you will also learn how to program your Content Center Libraries with a delicate touch.
