The basic premise of the Forge Viewer is to be able to display your designs in a web browser and interactively showcase them. But what if we want to create more-advanced interactions, like, for instance, adding custom geometry or manipulating the geometry of our models. This class will look at the possibilities and limitations of such techniques using the Forge Viewer and demonstrate how this can be done, walking you through a set of code samples. We’ll look at the way the Forge Viewer handles geometry, how to create and add custom geometry to models, and how to create basic tools, like push/pull faces, to manipulate that geometry directly in a browser.

Researchers and facility managers at the University of Florida collaborated on implementing Autodesk Tandem software in facilities and asset management (FAM) operations with the goal of understanding how digital twins (DTs) can improve operational efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance preventative maintenance. El Corte Inglés, Spain's largest department store chain and one of the biggest real estate owners in Europe, has digitized 3,7M+ sqm of their portfolio. Point clouds, Revit and ACC were the main tools used. This session will show the process and learnings of this experience and the improvements made after two years of continued efforts. They include a content library on Unifi to manage 21.000+ families widely used across 100+ assets' models, establishing a BIM office that uses Docs, Design Collaboration and Model Coordination to review and validate models, and devising strategies to bring models from previous stages up to the latest standards. Beyond digitization efforts, the session will also present how the models are being put to use for many purposes and their applications for even more: store renovation projects, quantities extraction and cost control, fittings capacity control studies, area related applications, construction stage… as well as the technologies for each of them.

What use would a tire company have for construction management software? We had to ask ourselves that same question at first. Unlike most who work in Autodesk Construction Cloud, we aren't paying our bills through the construction of buildings; we're investing in the buildings. We manage the entire project lifecycle of our facilities from conception to operations. Tires are our product, but we need a place to build those tires. We need to maintain that facility, manage our assets, and, most importantly, we need to transform our manufacturing footprint. One Team leads the development of the Digital Building Logbook (DBL) in the context of Horizon Europe's BuildON project. Serving as a centralized repository, it aids the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry's journey toward climate neutrality and a more circular economy. The DBL captures diverse building data, from general details, administrative records, construction data, and energy performance metrics to operational information and smart building data—collected throughout the building's lifespan. This effort aims to streamline the organization of diverse data types and address challenges related to disconnected data. Using the AEC Data Model API, the DBL will enable efficient data queries and powerful search capabilities to extract rich data from models without the need of authoring tools, effectively mitigating disconnected data issues common in the AEC industry. The DBL enhances user experience by breaking down data for various user personas across the building's lifecycle.
