The basic premise of the Forge Viewer is to be able to display your designs in a web browser and interactively showcase them. But what if we want to create more-advanced interactions, like, for instance, adding custom geometry or manipulating the geometry of our models. This class will look at the possibilities and limitations of such techniques using the Forge Viewer and demonstrate how this can be done, walking you through a set of code samples. We’ll look at the way the Forge Viewer handles geometry, how to create and add custom geometry to models, and how to create basic tools, like push/pull faces, to manipulate that geometry directly in a browser.

Generative Design in Fusion 360 software is extremely powerful for creating designs optimized for performance, manufacturing, and cost. However, some may argue that it’s "too much tool" for everyday modeling and simple design work. In this session, we’ll be talking about the work we’re doing to bring this vision to life, and help you understand how to make the most of Generative Design in Fusion 360.

This class is designed to walk through some advanced use cases for Autodesk PLM 360 software to demonstrate how to flex the software's true muscles. We will link virtual reality (PLM) to actuality (physical prototypes) by exploring the use of QR (quick response) codes generated within Autodesk PLM 360 software. Using a mobile device, we can then link physical prototypes to their electronic test data and discuss extensions of this concept to track, and perform maintenance on, equipment on the shop floor. We will also demonstrate the use of iframes to bring external data into your Autodesk PLM 360 records and save you some mouse clicks. This can include other data from Autodesk PLM 360 software or external sources, such as tracking the status of shipments from your local logistics company. If you are developing Autodesk PLM 360 software tenants, this class will help you extend the functionality you are providing to your users.

In the CAD world, it’s a requirement to share IP across the different software systems with different companies. It helps to collaborate and innovate better designs. Inventor software makes the process easy regardless of whether or not the other party uses Inventor. One of the biggest concerns while sharing out model data is protecting IP in your design. You can either share your file in a neutral file format, or you can simplify the model to help ensure easy collaboration and better protect your model and your IP. We are going to explore the best ways to simplify the model so that you can protect the data but still be able to share the model.

This class will cover scripting in a product lifecycle management (PLM) environment with specific focus on: achieving automation in the workflow by pushing workflow transitions; enabling certain users to push workflow transitions, setting values in workspaces when transitions are pushed; utilizing the dashboard with workflow-based programming; and emails at certain points in the workflow. Workspace automation—spawning related workspaces and setting values in related workspaces on save. We will also cover the basics of data integration in the Fusion environment using Jitterbit. This session features Fusion Lifecycle (PLM 360) and Jitterbit.

The purpose of this session is for customers to discuss their overall experience with Autodesk PLM 360 software, from initial product discovery through trial and implementation to the support and renewal process. The goal is to identify problem areas where customers may struggle and identify opportunities for improvement. This roundtable session enables customers to convey their struggles faced while getting the product up and running and discuss HOW they did it.  Furthermore, it’s a great opportunity to network with other PLM 360 customers and a chance to discuss use cases and product wishes/improvements with the user experience team.

Customers created a Building Information Modeling (BIM) automatically analyze, to develop a technology that can quickly and lighting design and visualization, you can promote your architectural design. It uses an API of Revit, first, extract the building information needed for lighting design. Then it will automatically place the lighting in individual rooms within the building. Further, through the illumination analysis, to render automatically create a photographic image. In addition, it provides dynamic control design of individual lights that are arranged. This enables you to control the lighting in the actual space. These technologies are also applicable to other facility designs.

This class covers the basics of the Autodesk 360 Structural Analysis for Revit service. We will provide a basic orientation to the service and take you through it to productive results.You will be introduced to tools that can help you to become productive in expanding your collaborative reach for successful projects.

Procedurally generated content is more and more interesting for companies and creators. In this session, we will cover some of the ways you can use scanned data to create modular assets and later to teach AI to build structures the same way that we the people do. In the presentation, we’ll walk through the process of acquiring scanned data, calculating it into 3D models and textures using ReCap reality capture software and cleaning and splitting the assets into modules. We’ll cover how this module can be used for procedural content and what the things are that we creators need to look after.

In this class, we will learn how to create storyboards to short animated films in Autodesk Maya, using advanced tools and high-end plugins, to bring to life realistic 3D art, 4D animations or add to your design portfolio. This class presents a real-life case study of a successful power substation design project using Autodesk Revit MEP software. It not only covers normal mechanical, lighting, power, security, hydraulic, and fire protection design, modeling, and documentation, but also introduces innovative ways of designing high-voltage cables in tight 3D building and tunnel spaces to meet the strict bending radius requirements. The solution provided some unprecedented methodology for high-voltage substation designers to resolve coordinated multidisciplinary 3D design issues. The methodology readily takes into account bending radius, electrical clearance, cable joints, site work, high-voltage cable position alternating and penetration in tunnels, high-voltage cable connections to Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and transformers through conduits and cable trays, lighting, and ventilation design.

This session will look at the PLM journey that Spirax Sarco has undertaken. Spirax Sarco, a 100-year-old company with nearly 40 overseas operations and a global manufacturing network, embarked on its Fusion Lifecycle PLM journey in early 2016. Over the last year this journey has presented many challenges but also many more opportunities than first considered. The learnings from the rollout approach, stakeholder management, and early adoption techniques will be shared. We will share the positive learnings that we will take forward on our journey, but also highlight the pitfalls. Focus areas will include large-scale organisational change, launching a global quality solution, global engineering change, and the launch of a group technical support hub to serve Spirax's 1,300 sales engineers in the field. Breaking down your 3D renders for compositing is not as intuitive and easy as many people assume. This class explains why you break things into layers and shows you techniques for doing it well. Create final looks easily in your pipeline by breaking your renders into passes that will allow you to dial everything in. Understand render elements and what they bring to the table. We go over VFX shots incorporated into live action plates and also full CG shots where everything is rendered.

Do you wish you could easily search all of your scripts in a single step? Discover how you can develop, test, and maintain scripts on your local machine for your tenant. We will be utilizing a small but very powerful set of tools that let us mock and document objects, properties, methods, functions, and so on. We will construct the Fusion Lifecycle Item Object with IntelliSense to speed up the development process. We will dabble with code linting to help maintain clean and consistent code across all files. We will utilize powerful search-and-replace features across multiple files for when you need to rename that field ID but can’t remember where you used them.

In this class we will cover the basics of integration using Autodesk PLM 360 Connect software. We will provide a review of the Autodesk PLM 360 Connect toolset and an overview of the Autodesk PLM 360 software API. To review these topics we will create a basic integration between Autodesk PLM 360 software and NetSuite, Inc., to manage NetSuite suppliers from within Autodesk PLM 360 software. Supplier management is easy using the workflow in Autodesk PLM 360 software. During the class we will build a connector to create and manage suppliers in NetSuite.
